Slachtofferhulpdiensten (S.A.V.) zijn particuliere diensten die door de gemeenschappen en gewesten worden erkend en gesubsidieerd. Ze zijn bedoeld voor alle slachtoffers van misdrijven of delicten, waaraan zij specifieke professionele hulp bieden. Aan het begin van 2002 waren er 14 actieve diensten voor slachtofferhulp in de Franse Gemeenschap. Twaalf van hen zijn goedgekeurd op basis van het Waals decreet betreffende de sociale bijstand aan procederende partijen.
